The Best 5 Months

Hello everyone,
It's my 25th birthday next Sunday!
And with that, I have further exciting news:
I'm ‪#‎embarking‬ on an incredible Filipino adventure!

Let's just say that it involves traveling to various regions of the Philippines, recording my family history, searching for my ancestors, discovering and adapting to new cultures, multiple trips to the Manila Temple, over a hundred service projects, expanding my very limited Tagalog and Bicol vocabularies, and making hundreds of new friends! It is anticipated that this adventure last for a period of five months.

I'm bringing a water bottle, bugspray, a video camera, a pen and a notebook.

I hope to come back with hours of recorded family history tapes, pages of written family stories with photos, calluses on my hands and feet, a stronger work ethic, names to bring to the temple, a deeper testimony of the enabling power of the Atonement, personal revelation, scripture study, prayer, genealogy work, sacred temple ordinances, and the priesthood.

To my beloved America, it's been real. To my beautiful Philippines, see you soon!
